Roles & Responsibilities:
Project Management & Customer Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of customer projects from RFQ, design freeze, tooling development, trials, validation, and SOP.
- Act as the primary technical interface for customers, ensuring alignment on project scope, timelines, deliverables, and quality expectations.
- Drive project planning, risk assessment, resource allocation, and milestone tracking to ensure on-time and cost-effective delivery.
- Manage project reviews, customer meetings, technical discussions, and change management.
Technical Services & Engineering Leadership
- Provide technical leadership in plastic molding processes, including material selection, mould design inputs, process feasibility, and manufacturability.
- Oversee simulation activities such as mould flow analysis, cooling analysis, warpage prediction, and ensure design/process optimization based on results.
- Guide mould design and development in coordination with tool rooms and suppliers, ensuring compliance with automotive standards.
- Support process engineering activities including process development, optimization, and troubleshooting during trials and production ramp-up.
Quality & Automotive Standards
- Ensure project execution adheres to automotive quality standards such as IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC, and customer-specific requirements.
- Lead risk management activities including DFMEA, PFMEA, control plans, and validation plans.
- Ensure compliance with internal QMS procedures and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Cross-functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Design, Tooling, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams for seamless project execution.
- Mentor and guide technical and project teams to build capability and ensure accountability.
- Collaborate with suppliers and external partners for tooling, simulation, and process development activities.
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Management
- Drive continuous improvement in project management, tooling performance, process capability, and cost optimization.
- Capture lessons learned and standardize best practices across projects.
- Support new technology introduction, automation, and process enhancement initiatives
Preferred Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in plastic injection molding and automotive component manufacturing.
- Thorough understanding of mould design, moulding processes, and tool validation.
- Strong knowledge of simulation tools (Moldflow or equivalent), process engineering, and troubleshooting.
- In-depth understanding of automotive quality systems and standards.
- Proven project management and customer-facing experience.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities.
